How do i book and appointment?

You can book an appointment online or enquire via direct message on Instagram or Facebook. Alternatively you can call us on 07853712421. For our social media it’s @hausofpaws

How long will my dog be with you?

Our groomers work a 1:1 basis with your pooch giving the ultimate attention and grooming experience, your dog will be kept no longer than necessary the average groom takes between 90minutes and two hours, depending on breed, coat type and behaviour. This time will be discussed prior to your appointment and on your consultation.

Can I choose the grooming style?

Of course! Prior to your grooming appointment you will have a free consultation in regards to your dogs coat and texture, where we will discuss the best option for your dog to personalise your experience and find the best possible style for your pooch. Our groomers offer a range of styles to suit your dogs needs. However please bare in mind welfare comes before aesthetic. Styles will depend on condition of dogs coat and there temperament but don’t worry your dog will always come out looking Perfect.

Should I walk my dog prior to my appointment?

Yes! Get them as muddy as you like and we will make the sparkle again! Walking your dog will release energy and give them chance to go to the toilet before there groom, it also means they will stay fresh and clean and of course perfect after their groom.

My dog is old can it still be groomed?

All dogs regardless of age benefit from grooming, we are specially trained in dealing with dogs of all ages, behaviours and disabilities. Older dogs and dogs with medical problems need personal care which makes our 1:1 experience perfect for them, our groomers are experienced with blind, arthritic, epileptic dogs and many more. If your are concerned please don’t hesitate to contact us or speak to a vet to advise if there will be any risks with any grooming. Your dogs welfare will always come first.

My dog is aggressive can it still be groomed?

We understand not all dogs enjoy being groomed, as like humans all dogs have different backgrounds and some might not simply enjoy it but that’s ok! We make sure we take a calm approach and take the time to get to know your dogs and it’s needs. Time, patience, massages and aromatherapy treatments will be used to make sure your dog has the perfect experience, in the consultation we will discuss your dogs needs on an individual basis to decide the best solution.

Can I stay and watch?

Your pets love you so much which means if you stay they will wiggle and move around and try to be with you. This is not safe. However we can take plenty of  pictures and you can always call whilst they are being pampered to see how they are getting along.

Can you remove matts or knots?

We can not give a direct answer to this question, there are various techniques and products that we can use to remove matts and knots , however this depends on the dogs temperament, coat texture and severity of matts. We will use different technique on your pooch to save the style and coat of your pet. However we must stress that we will always put welfare before aesthetic and sometimes the only option is to remove the coat and start fresh. The animal welfare act under five freedoms is an offence to cause animals pain and discomfort and we will remove the coat if we feel this will benefit your dog, this will always be communicated before grooming. However please get in contact if you have any concerns. Please note there will be additional charge for knots and matts removal prices determine on individual pet requirements.

How often does my dog need grooming?

The length of the coat and style and breed of dog will  determine how often they need a groom, we will advise the best and most specific grooming schedule for your pooch.

Do you offer dry cuts?

We do not usually offer dry cuts, as your dog needs to be in perfect cleanliness to be able to achieve the best standard and styling for your dog which can only be achieved by us drying and bathing your dog, however you are more than welcome to bring your own shampoo if there is a specific brand or medicated shampoo your pooch needs. Depending on the circumstance eg the dogs behaviour, age or medical conditions we would offer a dry cut.

When can my puppy get groomed?

It’s highly important your puppy gets used to being groomed from a young age, they get to know the senses, smells and sounds. Making it a more enjoyable process for the future. Once your puppy has had both it’s vaccinations it can begin the grooming process, leave it a minimum of 7 days after the vaccinations before having them groomed.

Can my dog be groomed if pregnant or in season?

If your dog is pregnant we will not be able to offer a full groom however there are different options we can do which can be discussed in a free consultation. Grooming the dog whilst pregnant will be stressful for them and they will not enjoy the process making future appointments very difficult. There temperament can be a lot different when there pregnant making it harder for us to groom. If your dog is in season please call us as your appointment may need to change, if you haven’t already got a pre-booked appointment please wait until her season is over as her temperament will be different. She will also leave a specific scent in the salon so other dogs will pick up on that and will make grooming them potentially difficult.

My dog has fleas can you still groom them?

Please inform us prior to your appointment if your dog has fleas. They can still be groomed however your appointment might need to be amended to allow us time to deep clean the salon afterwards, there will also be an additional fee for dogs with fleas.

What if im not happy with my dogs cut?

If for any reason your aren’t happy with the treatment you have received, please inform us within two buisness days of your appointment and we will be happy to amend. We take great pride in our service and always aim to give you the best experience, we want you to leave completely satisfied

What if i need to re-arrange?

Life happens and we understand it can be very unpredictable, if you need to cancel or rearrange please give us 48 hours notice, we are small business and every client matters, 48hours gives us enough time to offer the appointment to another client.

Can you give a definite price over the telephone or online?

We always try our best to give the most accurate price over the phone however prices are set depending on breed, size and coat condition . As without seeing your dog there might be additional charges added for removal of knots, matts, fleas and unkept coats etc

Are you first aid trained?

Yes! Your pets welfare is our main priority, we renew our first training every year to stay refreshed. Your pet will always be in the safest hands and always stay safe.
